3 Berkshire project involved a thoughtful redevelopment of our family home, executed in a phased approach to enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Historically, the property’s back garden was sold off, transforming it into what is now the side garden. This shift required a re-orientation of the house to maximize its connection to the repositioned garden which had to date, not been acknowledged.
Phase 1 of the redevelopment focuses on a single-storey rear extension, featuring full-height sliding doors that seamlessly connect the interior with the rear garden. This extension creates a fluid transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces, fostering a harmonious living environment.
In Phase 2, we will introduce a replacement two-storey rear extension and have redesigned the entrance to accommodate a new kitchen and a dedicated boot room. The first-floor layout will be reconfigured to include a luxurious master suite, offering an elevated standard of living and comfort.
Phase 3 involves a hip-to-gable extension and the addition of rear roof dormers. These changes optimize the existing second floor, allowing for an additional bedroom and better utilization of the space.
The landscaping, designed in collaboration with renowned designer Tom Massey, complements the redevelopment with a material palette which echo’s the house. An edimental planting scheme provides native species and wildlife attracting plants, sculptural bug hotels and a stunning outdoor kitchen as a focal point.
